My dearest Advent Family,
Today’s passage comes from Isaiah 26:12 (NLT): “Lord, you will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from You.”
I loved the simplicity of this verse this morning! It acts as a simple prayer as well.
But not only is it a simple prayer but it gets to the point of what my heart cries out and longs for a lot of my days.
Are you lacking peace today? What anxious thought is consuming you? I shared yesterday the truth about Jesus overcoming the world and therefore that is why we claim victory over fears, anxieties, anger, bitterness, etc., because of our faith through Him and in Him. But confession, one of the biggest hurdles I have to get over before I fall before His throne is denying myself. Is anyone else out there a recovering “control freak”!? I am right there with you! I get in the way A LOT before I cry out to the Lord to grant me peace. And once I figure out how to take myself out of the equation and begin to solely rely on Him and humble myself, then the truth of acknowledging that anything and everything that I have accomplished in any given moment is ALL FROM HIM.
Jesus,
May I echo the truth of Isaiah to You today! Grant me peace today! Help me release control because You are sovereign. You are truly the one that holds my life in Your hands. I give You all praise and glory for every accomplishment because it’s really You doing the work within me and through me! For it’s in your Mighty Name, I pray. Amen.
In His Hands,
