Hey Church Family,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
One of the most important lessons Proverbs teaches us is learning to trust God’s wisdom instead of depending completely on our own. This is a familiar passage, but sometimes familiar verses can become so common that we stop letting them speak to us.
Notice what Solomon says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
He doesn’t say trust God when everything makes sense. He doesn’t say trust God when you know how everything will work out. He simply says, trust Him.
That’s an important lesson.
We often want God to explain everything before we are willing to trust Him. We want to see the entire plan, but God often asks us to take the next step without showing us the whole journey. Our understanding is limited, but God’s isn’t. He sees what we cannot see and knows what we cannot know.
That’s why Solomon tells us to acknowledge God “in all your ways.” We shouldn’t just invite God into our spiritual lives; we should invite Him into our decisions, relationships, work, finances, and plans.
Sometimes we ask God to bless the path we’ve already chosen instead of asking Him to direct our path in the first place.
So today, before you make a decision or worry about what comes next, stop and ask: “Lord, what does Your Word say, and am I willing to trust You even when I don’t understand?”
Faith isn’t always knowing what God is going to do. Sometimes faith is simply trusting Him when we don’t know.
Let’s pray together.
Father, help me trust You with all my heart. Forgive me for relying on my own understanding instead of seeking Your wisdom. Teach me to acknowledge You in every area of my life and give me the faith to follow You, even when I don’t understand the path ahead. Lead me according to Your will. Amen.
