We Are Fellow Workers
Scripture
“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” — 1 Corinthians 3:9 (NIV)
Paul reminds the church in Corinth that no single person accomplishes God’s work alone. Some plant. Others water. God is the One who gives the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). Every believer has a role, and every role matters because it is part of God’s greater purpose. Whether you lead a classroom, work behind the scenes, care for children, greet guests, balance budgets, serve meals, or simply encourage those around you, you are a fellow worker with God.
Our identity begins with knowing that we belong to Christ and have been invited to work alongside Him. Confidence is not found in our title, our experience, or our accomplishments. It is found in knowing whose work we are doing. God faithfully equips those He calls, growing us as we steward the gifts He has entrusted to us. Serving Him is less about position and more about partnership with Christ. When we embrace our role as God’s fellow workers, even the smallest task becomes an act of worship.
Today, remember that your work has eternal significance. Someone may never notice the effort you put into your responsibilities, but God does. Every conversation, every act of kindness, every lesson taught, every problem solved, and every prayer offered helps build His Kingdom. There is no insignificant role when you are working alongside the Lord.

Where have you been tempted to measure your value by your position instead of your purpose? How does remembering that you are God’s fellow worker change the way you approach today’s responsibilities?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me to work alongside You. Help me find my confidence in You rather than in my title or abilities. Strengthen me to faithfully serve wherever You have placed me today. May my work honor You and point others to Christ. Amen.
