Devotion 5: Called to Lead Wherever God Places You
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
As we grow in confidence through Christ, faithfulness in small things, courage through challenges, and Christlike character, we begin to understand an important truth: every believer is called to lead. Leadership is not limited to pastors, principals, teachers, or managers. God calls all of us to influence the world around us for His glory.
A confident, capable, Christian leader may be a student inviting someone to sit with them at lunch. It may be a parent modeling patience at home, a teacher encouraging a child who feels unseen, a church member serving faithfully behind the scenes, or a senior adult sharing wisdom and prayer with younger generations. Leadership happens wherever God has planted us.
God does not waste any season of life. Whether you feel strong or weary, experienced or uncertain, God can use you right now. When we allow His light to shine through our words, actions, and attitudes, we become living examples of His love to a world that desperately needs hope. Our greatest purpose is not to gain recognition, but to glorify God in the way we live.
Reflection
How has God uniquely positioned you to influence others right now? In what ways can you shine His light in your current season of life?
Prayer
Father, thank You for calling each of us to lead and serve in meaningful ways. Help us to shine Your light wherever You place us. Use our words, actions, and attitudes to point others toward You. May we become confident, capable, Christian leaders who glorify You in every season of life. Amen.
