Lent Devotional Series

Dear Advent Life Ministries Church and School Family,

As we enter this sacred season of Lent together, Advent Church, Proclaim Church, our board members, staff, and school family, we pause to remember why we are here. LOVE is why we are here. As we move toward the cross, may these daily reflections prepare our hearts with humility, repentance, surrender, and renewed devotion.

Fixing Our Eyes on the Cross
Friday, February 20, 2026

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus… who for the joy set before Him endured the cross.”
Hebrews 12:2

Lent always points forward. The wilderness, repentance, ashes, and discipline are not ends in themselves. They prepare us to see the cross clearly. And the cross is not tragedy alone, it is victory unfolding.
Scripture tells us that Jesus endured “for the joy set before Him.” Even suffering was framed by hope. Lent teaches us to live the same way: sober about sin, honest about mortality, serious about discipline, yet anchored in resurrection promise. For every role within Advent Life Ministries, this hope sustains perseverance. Ministries endure seasons of challenge. Families endure seasons of strain. Leaders endure seasons of uncertainty. We endure because resurrection is coming.

Lent is not a season of despair. It is a season of preparation for joy.

Challenge:
End this week by reading the crucifixion account slowly (John 19 or Matthew 27). Ask God to deepen your gratitude and anchor your hope.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will SOAR on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
