We are an Alleluia People; We are a Resurrection People
Day5: Living the Alleluia
As we come to the end of these days of reflection, we return to the question at the heart of Easter: how will we live because He is risen?
After the Resurrection, Jesus meets His disciples by the sea and turns to Peter—the one who had denied Him. Three times He asks:
“Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”… “Feed my lambs.”
“Simon son of John, do you love me?”… “Take care of my sheep.”
“Simon son of John, do you love me?”… “Feed my sheep.” (John 21:15–17)
With each question, Peter is invited to move beyond his past and step into a new life of love and purpose. He is invited to rise out of the sadness and shame of his denials to start again.
This is the invitation of Easter for all of us.
We have seen Him in the ordinary.
We have trusted Him in our struggles.
We have shared Him in community.
Now, we are called to live it.
To live the Alleluia is to answer Jesus each day: Yes, Lord, you know that I love you. And to let that love shape how we serve, forgive, and walk with others. The Resurrection is not just something we celebrate; it is something we become. Alleluia is not simply a word we say. We should sing it loud and proud, and I’ll leave you with a link to a beautiful Alleluia: Alleluia by Alejandro Consolacion, Jr. Let this music sink into your soul and inspire you to live in the joy and responsibility of the Resurrection.
Reflection: How will I live differently today because Christ is risen?
Prayer: Risen Lord, let my life be a continual Alleluia. Send me out to love and serve in Your name.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Amen.
